Parametric High-Voltage Transmission Tower (U35 Type)¶
Description¶
A detailed procedural model of a lattice steel transmission tower, commonly used in 35kV high-voltage power lines. Unlike static 3D assets, this model is built using a mathematical approach where every cross-brace and section is calculated based on structural logic. The design features a classic four-legged tapering trunk with cross-arms (traverse) optimized for electrical clearance.
Key Features¶
- Geometric Similarity Logic: The lattice sections are generated using triangle similarity algorithms, ensuring perfectly aligned bracing as the tower tapers toward the top.
- Modular Truss Structure: Includes the main trunk, ground wire peak, and cross-arms for conductor suspension.
- Standard-Based Design: Modeled after industrial blueprints (U35 series), maintaining realistic proportions for height, base width, and traverse span.
- Clean Topology for Analysis: Built using solid primitives, making the model suitable for FEA (Finite Element Analysis) or clear architectural visualization.
Dimensions (Default U35-3 Specs)¶
- Total Height: 23.5 meters
- Base Width: 5.4 meters
- Number of Sections: 5 main segments + peak
- Profile: Square-section framing (optimized for CAD performance)
